There is no single mechanism. Apple cider vinegar contributes acetic acid, which has modest research behind it for satiety and for blunting the blood sugar rise after a carbohydrate meal. The BHB salts are included as a ketone source, though at this dose their contribution is nominal.
Everything below explains why an ingredient is in the jar and what research exists on that ingredient in isolation. None of it establishes what the finished gummy will do for any individual, and the dose question matters more here than on most products.
Acetic acid, the active component of vinegar, has been studied for satiety and post-meal glucose response. The effects reported are real but small, and most trials are short.
This is the part of the formula with something to point to. It is also inexpensive and familiar, which is not a criticism — a convenient format for an ingredient that works modestly is a perfectly sensible product.
Studies that raise blood ketones with exogenous BHB salts generally use 6 to 12 grams per serving. BurnTide's entire proprietary blend is 525 milligrams, shared with the apple cider vinegar. The BHB portion is a small fraction of a research dose.
The label's own mineral amounts point the same way. BHB salts are calcium, magnesium and sodium beta-hydroxybutyrate, so the mineral figures tell you roughly how much salt is present. At sodium 2.5 mg, calcium 1 mg and magnesium 0.75 mg, the answer is: very little.
There is a second point worth making. Even at full research doses, raising blood ketones is not the same thing as burning stored body fat. Exogenous ketones act as a fuel source and a fasting aid; they are not a weight-loss shortcut.
The most reliable thing a daily gummy does is behavioural. Taking something every morning anchors a routine, and appetite awareness is a large part of how people actually manage their weight.
That is a genuine effect and it is worth having. It is just not a pharmacological one, and it works only alongside the boring fundamentals: what you eat, how much you move, and how well you sleep. See the ingredient amounts →
